High to Low Poly Assets
THis doc goes over using a high poly to low poly approach to creating a custom Avatar for Roblox.
Some assets deserve more however. If you have a hero character or asset that requires all the bells and whistles then it requires its own material and textures.
For best results a high polygon assets is made by sculpting or modelling, and then creating a low polygon asset on top of it, and then baking the high polygon details into the low polygon texture.
This approach is the most complicated, but usually creates the highest quality assets at the cost of performance and file size. As Roblox usually has a more limited approach to things, in both style and engine, this is generally not recommended for Roblox assets unless you are making a custom experience for higher end devices.
